The Spy - The War (Part 1)
This quest becomes available after meeting both the bull tribe chief Axel and Nauxus (the previous two quests; the latter is not required).
Prerequisites
- Meet the bull tribe chief Axel
- Preferably also meet Nauxus (optional but recommended)
- Locate the spy in the southern forest
Quest Options
You can find the spy south of the bull tribe. If you spoke with Nauxus, you'll have an additional choice:
Option 1: Use the Password
- Tell him the password, then return to Nauxus, who will be pleased
- You'll also tease Axel, making him angry, but he'll reluctantly accept you (only if you spoke with Nauxus)
Option 2: Eliminate the Spy
If you haven't seen Nauxus, or even if you have but decide to kill the spy for Axel, you must fight him:
- HP: 150
- Stats: Fast and agile with higher dodge rate than other enemies
- Combat: Initial lust is 0; theoretically can be defeated with flirting, but rarely works (possibly because he's ultimately a loyal husband)
- Stakes: The loser dies! He'll either stab your heart before you can react, or (even if defeated by lust) will stab the dagger into his own chest, apologizing to his wife and children with his dying words
Battle Strategy
- High damage output is recommended
- He's faster than most enemies, so expect frequent attacks
- Lust attacks are generally ineffective due to his loyalty
- Bring healing items if needed
Consequences
If You Win (Kill Him)
- You can present his heart to the delighted Axel (making Thane uncomfortable, who will hold a proper burial for the heart)
- You can lie to Nauxus in two ways - he probably doesn't believe you, but will pretend to, and take you to his village
If You Lose
- Game over scenario - he kills you swiftly
- You can use rollback or "refuse" the failure
Strategic Considerations
This choice has long-term implications for relationships with both the lizard tribe (Nauxus) and the bull tribe (Axel). Consider which alliance serves your goals better.
